Hello and Welcome!
For as long as I can remember, I’ve always been involved with fitness and athletics. It wasn't until I got into Crossfit and weightlifting in 2008 that I found I needed to find additional ways to stay healthy during competitions and training days; these things included proper sleep, nutrition, hydration, etc.
As time went on, I stopped competing because my husband and I had made the decision to start our family. My reasons for staying healthy had now changed. I struggled with postpartum anxiety after the delivery of both of my boys. I was overwhelmed, anxious, and unsure of myself as a mother. This was a very dark and difficult time for me. I am so happy that I reached our for help and I’m forever grateful for the other moms I talked to who supported me. This is what got me through.
In addition, I developed a poor body image after having my second son. I struggled with finding the time to exercise, eat properly, and getting downtime for myself. I kept telling myself that soon I’d be able to focus on myself. So when is soon? I finally had enough. I made small adjustments in my daily schedule to ensure that I got the things I had neglected for far too long. I needed to focus on ME!
After that time in my life, I found my passion for helping others in a more holistic lifestyle. Although I love working and supporting men and women of every age, I found my calling in working with mothers. The experiences I have had as a mother have shown me the need to support moms. I can relate and empathize on how difficult it is as a mother to take care of our own health.
I resigned from teaching kindergarten after 15 years to pursue health and wellness coaching and postpartum doula work. I am certified by the International Association of Wellness Professionals in Holistic Wellness Coaching and I received my postpartum doula training through Dona International.
